Yolanda Cuellar Ortiz, age 65, of Brownsville, passed away, Sunday, November 20, 2011 in the loving presence of family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Adelina Moore Mayorga, and father, Luis Cuellar.
She is survived by her children, Anna Ortiz Garza Reggie, and Carlos Ortiz Gabby, five grandchildren, Ariel Garza, and Charlie, Sarah, Miranda and Eric Ortiz, sisters, Mary L. Lawsen of California, Lydia Cuellar of Brownsville, Texas and Cleo C. Palmer of Josephine, Texas, and aunts and uncles, Ofelia Garza, Cleotilde Arrambide, Estella Perez, William Cuellar, Agusto Cuellar.
She was an active Member of St. Luke Catholic Church, serving in various capacities through the years as a youth group sponsor, Eucharistic Minister, and fundraiser to name a few.
The family wishes to express many thanks to the healthcare providers and caregivers, friends and church community, who watched over Yolanda and her family.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. on Tuesday November 22, 2011 , at Trevino Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday November 23, 2011 at Trevino Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday November 23,2011 at St. Luke Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
