Viola M. Lopez

Viola Martinez Lopez, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She will be missed.

She was born in Brownsville, TX, a daughter of the late Jose Martinez and Isabel Uribe. Viola Lopez was a very caring and loving person; she was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and a friend. She loved to take care of her family, she loved music, and she loved watching movies. Viola will always be remembered for her deep generosity and kind heart. She filled rooms with joy and shared laughter with all of her loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor E. Lopez, her brother, Jose Martinez Jr, her sister, Lucinda M. Rivera, and her second mother, Juliana M. Gracia. She is survived by her two sons, Victor Lopez II and VanRick Lopez, her daughter, Veronica Lopez Puente, her two daughter-in-laws; Claudia Lopez and Elma Iran Lopez, her son-in-law, Jose Guadalupe Puente, her seven grandchildren; Joshua Guadalupe Puente, Valerie Isabel Puente, Vincent Alexander Puente, Iran Ironi Lopez, Violet Liberty Lopez, Islaen Antonia Lopez, and Vivica Tempest Lopez and her seven sisters, Mary Olmos, Leonor Soto, Lucy Escobedo, Lidia Gallardo, Onilia Cruz, Ana Sanchez and Rachel Flores.

Viola is remembered by many extended family members including her honorary grandchildren, Maria Lisette Flores and Renato Luis Flores. All of her family and friends will miss her deeply, cherish memories and love her always.

Visitation is from 2 pm to 9 pm on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026 with a Rosary at 7 pm.

Visitation resumes 8:15 am to 10 am Thursday, June 4th, 2026 with a scheduled Chapel Service at 10 am.

Burial will be at Buena Vista Burial Park at 11 am.
