Victor Garza, 90, entered into eternal life on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center. He was born October 18, 1917 in San Benito,Tx to Severo Garza Teresa Abrego Garza. A lifetime resident of Brownsville. As a youth he was a cowboy and had worked at the Chapman and King Ranches. Also, worked at a dairy farm now known as Palo Alto and retired from Gulfside Compress. He was a man who always greeted everyone with a handshake and a big smile. An outdoorsman who not only loved hunting, fishing, wildbirds, pet dogs, his parrott and conjunto music, he loved his family, grandkids, great-grandkids.
Victor is preceded in death by his parents Severo Teresa Abrego Garza; son Jose Garza; daughter Dora Garza; grandson Ernie Garza; brothers Miguel, Felix, Julian Garza, and Lolo Hernandez; Sisters Guadalupe Garza and Manuela Hernandez.
He is survived by his wife of 64 yrs., Guadalupe Sanchez Garza; Sons, Guadalupe GarzaMaria Elena and Severo GarzaRosario; Daughter, Ofelia Garza; 4 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 5 great-grandsons, and 6 great-granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1:00pm to 9:00pm on Monday September 29, 2008 with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Tuesday September 30, 2008 at Holy Family Catholic Church with interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Honored to be his pallbearers are Guadalupe Garza Jr., Luis Gomez Jr., Stanley Pilcher, Juan Manuel Segura, Jose Santos Segura and Michael Garza. Also, Honorary Pallbearers are Markus Garza and Mario Luis Gomez.
