Valentin Rodriguez

Valentin Rodriguez entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the age of sixty-three.

Valentin was born to Crispin and Carlota Rodriguez in Brownsville.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors; fishing, hunting, listening to music and working on cars.  He especially enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and was their greatest fan.  In his youth, Valentin raced cars and dedicated his spare time playing in his band.  Most memorable was his love for ice cream and playing pranks on his family.  His life revolved around his seven children and wife of forty- eight years.  He was retired from auto mechanics but could always be found under the hood of a car.  He took tremendous pride in his work. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed, not only by his family but by those fortunate enough to have known him.

Valentin was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years Margarita Rodriguez and seven children; Veronica (Humberto) De Leon, Valentin (Cynthia Poitinger) Rodriguez Jr., Velma (Fernando) Carbajal, Belinda (Tim) De Mars, Jessica Rodriguez, Vanessa (Victor) Colon and Valerie (Joey) Eguia. Also, to treasure many memories are his fifteen grandchildren and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019, with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:30 p.m. in the South Chapel of Treviño Funeral Home. Visitation will resume in the South Chapel at 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019 with a funeral mass scheduled at 10 a.m. at San Eugenio de Mazenod Catholic Church located at 5409 Austin Road in Brownsville, Texas. Services will conclude; to respect his wishes, cremation will follow.
