Valdemar Garcia, a beloved resident of Brownsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on October 14, 1938, Brownsville, Texas, he lived a life full of charisma and generosity, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Valdemar's work ethic was unmatched, showing his dedication and hard work. He enlisted in the United States Military, and later worked on Harlingen Air Force Base. Valdemar also worked at Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen TX for 6 years, as a mortician . Valdemar then grew his education by studying Landscaping. He started his own Landscaping and Design business from 1973 to 2023. His work can be seen around town, and throughout the valley. He worked on homes, businesses, banks and even worked on the new bridge to Mexico from Brownsville. Valdemar had a special love for landscaping which was evident in his beautiful yards that he tended to with great care.
Valdemar had a vibrant personality characterized by his strong faith, which guided him in all aspects of his life. He was not only loving but also passionate about his hobbies and interests. He was known for having cookouts and delighted in sharing his famous carne asada with loved ones. Dancing brought him joy, as did his children. Valdemar was a good friend, neighbor, husband, and father. Always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed him.
Valdemar was a great father, whose love for his children was boundless. He cherished his family deeply and was proud of each member. His legacy lives on through his children, Azencion Clara Garza (Oscar), Baldemar Garcia Jr. (Daysi), Ismael David Garcia (Estrella), Leonor Cassandra Rollins (Charles), Maria Christina Murphy (Timothy), Sarah Candace Zepeda (Paul),Juan Jose Garcia (Susana), Julio Cesar Garcia (Yesenia), Christian Garcia, Alfonso Guevara (Adriana) Lucero Alely Vela (Ivan) along with his many nieces, nephews , grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family finds comfort in the memories they shared, knowing how much he loved and supported them throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Faustino Garcia and Asencion Rosales, siblings: Eva Guevara, Ambrosio Guevara, Raul Guevara, Oscar Olivares, Otillia Olivares, Ofelia Olivares, and his granddaughter, Christine Lisette Cantwell (Brian).
Valdemar's life will be celebrated during visitation services at Trevino Funeral Home in Brownsville, TX. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on November 18, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service from 7 PM- 8PM. Visitation will resume Tuesday November 19, 8:15 AM - 12 PM, the burial service will take place at 1:00 PM on November 19 at Buena Vista Burial Park.
