Thomas Goforth

BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS - Thomas Ray Goforth peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018.

Tom was born to Isaac and Grace Goforth in Tamaroa, Illinois.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Goforth; his daughter, Marsha; and by his two brothers, one sister, two grandchildren, and by his stepson.

Tom is survived by his wife, Louise Goforth; his sister, Ceola Benedicts; his children Larry (Sandy) Goforth, Judy (Dave) Callahan, Michael (Loretta) Goforth, and Alan Goforth; and step-children Robert Livingston, Alicia Livingston, Stephanie (Tim) Heywood, Sonja (Jim) Mott, Melody El Kortobi, and Sarah Skye. Tom leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Tom served in the United States Navy during WWII and Korea as a Hospital Corpsman. During his working years Tom worked as a Master electrician. Tom enjoyed many hobbies such as woodworking, leather crafting, jewelry making, rockhounding, and reading.

Tom was a loving husband and devoted father. He loved his family and loved spending time with them. When he could, he would attend daily Mass at St. Luke Catholic Church. Tom loved serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion as well as many other ways in which he served the Lord.

The family wants to thank St. Luke Catholic Church for the many years of kindness and love that they showed Tom. He has many friends there.

A Memorial Mass will commence on Friday, June 1, 2018 at ten o'clock in the morning, at the St. Luke Catholic Church, located at 2800 Rockwell Drive, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
