Sara G. Herrera

November 29, 1931 — July 4, 2025

San Antonio, Texas

Our beloved mother, Sara G. Herrera, born on November 29, 1931, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, where she had lived to be close to her younger daughter. She was ninety-three years old.

She married Arnulfo Herrera in 1955 in Corpus Christi, Texas. They started their married life and moved on to live in Kingsville, Texas and finally to Brownsville. They were married 66 years till his passing in 2021.

Sara G. Herrera was a seamstress who loved sewing clothes and crafts, but her passion and talent were in making beautiful tablecloths, dolls and bedspreads that she would crochet for herself, friends and family. She also enjoyed listening to romantic and mariachi music and singing along. She always loved dressing up and wearing hats at times. When she was able to, she liked sitting outside to watch the birds and listening to them sing.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnulfo Herrera. She leaves behind her daughters, Norma Scullane (George) and Sara E. Guerrero (Darryl†). Sara G. Herrera also leaves behind her grandchildren: Hilary, Brendan (Ashlee) and Victoria de La Vega (Joseph) and her great-grandson, Jaxon Scullane. Sara G. Herrera’s memory will live on through everyone that was fortunate to have known her.
