Ruben A. Morales

Ruben A. Morales, born on July 23, 1962, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024. He was known for having a positive personality, who offered encouragement and advice to family and friends. Ruben was known for his friendly demeanor, helpful nature, and infectious sense of humor that could light up any room.

Ruben is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Irma Plata Morales. He is also survived by his two brothers: Martin Morales and Daniel Morales along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruben is preceded in death by his parents: Tomas Moa Morales and Elena Longoria Morales, sister: Maria C. Morales, and brother: “Tommy” Juan T. Morales.

Ruben worked for over forty years. Twenty-six of those years, he worked at a coffee plant in Houston, Texas. When the plant shut down, Ruben went back to school and got his associate’s degree at Galveston College. He majored in HVAC.

An enthusiast of running, Ruben completed an impressive ten marathons, demonstrating not only his passion for fitness but also his dedication and perseverance. His interests extended beyond running; he had a deep love for classic cars, especially his Camaro and trucks.

The community will gather to honor Ruben's life on November 7, 2024. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, located at 1355 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX. Following the visitation, a service will commence from 2:00 PM until 2:30 PM. Ruben will then be laid to rest at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, with burial scheduled for 3:00 PM.

Ruben A. Morales will always be remembered for his warmth and spirited personality. May he rest in eternal peace.
