Ruben Gambler Canul, 56, of Brownsville, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, left to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 while peacefully sleeping at his home.
RubenGambler was a lifelong resident of Brownsville. He served in the US Marine for 4 years and graduated at Pan American University. He worked at several television stations and marketing jobs. Most recent job was at Gary Job Corp.
Ruben was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Guadalupe Canul, his brother, Jose Victor Canul and his sister, Irma Canul.
Left behind to eternally treasure his memories of him are his wife Sulema CasasCanul, his daughter Vennett Mike Jimenez, grandchildren Mikey and Briella Jimenez, his sister Elena Reynaldo Garza, his brothers Juan Socorro Canul, Melecio Elizabeth Canul, numerous nieces and nephews and his brothers from Hermanos Unidos MC.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Trevino Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2012 at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 2 p.m., today, Friday, May 18, 2012 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Full military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 2035 under the direction of Chaplain George M. Garcia.
Pallbearers will be Alex Screw Garcia, Joe Ice Man Gonzalez, Ricardo Oil Rig Cervantes, Henry Dragon Barrentes, Miguel Jimenez and Juan Casas.
