Rosaura Castillo

September 26, 1915 — November 5, 2015

Rosaura Castillo, born in Monterrey, Mexico on 9/26/1915 to Ramon Castillo and Agueda de la Garza de Castillo, joined her family in the kingdom of heaven on November 5, 2015. Rosaura followed her siblings to the United States in the early 1940's. Never married, she dedicated her life to her family. She tenderly cared for her ailing mother and sisters. She lovingly raised and nurtured dozens of nieces and nephews. In 1955, Brownsville became her home. And it is in Brownsville that her legacy will be best remembered and cherished by those that shared her home and her heart - Celeste Castillo Garza, Cecilio Garza, Andrea Garza and Richard Garza, as well as by the nieces and nephews that have held her close to their hearts. She held firm to her beliefs that life is sacred and we must reach out to embrace all that it offers. She will be dearly missed, but her passing leaves not a void, but a well filled with the love, laughter, faith, joy in life, the value of dedication to one's ideals, and friendships she developed throughout the years.

We thank her doctors, their office staff and service providers for their care and attention throughout the years.

Our most sincere and heartfelt appreciation goes to the administration and staff of the Brownsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where Rosaura spent the last 9 years of her life. Their kindness and affection, their friendship and compassion during good days and bad days, their dedication to the well-being of their residents, contributed so much to the quality of life that Rosaura enjoyed and allowed us many extra years of her company.

A Memorial Service will be held in the South Chapel of Trevino Funeral Home located at 1355 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, Texas on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice
