Rosalinda Alanis

October 24, 1965 — October 19, 2021

Rosa Llinda Ybarra Alanis - Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend entered her eternal life at her residence in San Benito, Texas on October 19, 2021 after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  “Rosie” as she was known by all her friends and loved ones, was born on October 24, 1965 in Brownsville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eusebio and Juanita Ybarra, and her sisters Reyna, Viviana, and Juanita Ybarra.

Rosie was an outgoing, strong woman with a heart of gold. She cherished all her family and friends, but her greatest pride and joy were her children, Alex and Amy, and granddaughters Anita and Sophie, all her “TESOROS” as she so lovingly called them. Everything she did, including fighting such a tough cancer battle, was for the love she had for her Tesoros and the desire to continue to be with them. Rosie not only leaves behind some wonderful memories for all her siblings and children, but also some delicious cooking skills and recipes that she learned from her mother and has now passed on to her son and daughter. Rosie also had a special love for her daughter in law Joanna Alanis, who unselfishly cared for her until the day of her passing and for her Sunny Glenn family that was so generous and supportive to her throughout her illness.

Left to cherish her memory and miss her dearly are her children: Amy Grace Rodriguez, Alex (Joanna) Alanis, granddaughters: Anna Leah Rodriguez and Sophia Grace Rodriguez, sisters or her “gang” as Rosie called them: Lupita Castillo, Rebecca Cabrera, Yolanda Altamirano, Irma Calderon, and Graciela Chong. Her brothers who she adored: Jose Ybarra, Ozzy Ybarra, and Rey Ybarra. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on October 25, 2021 at Trevino Funeral Home on 1355 Old Port Isabel Road with viewing services from 12 pm to 6 pm and spiritual service at 7 pm by Mrs. Betty Chong-Menard.
