Rolando Gutierrez

Rolando Gutierrez passed away Wednesday, May 1^st, 2024, at the age of seventy-two years old at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Rolando was born July 13, 1951, in Brownsville, TX. to his parents Estanislao Gutierrez†, and Isabel T. Gutierrez†.

 Rolando loved fishing, boxing, old school cars, carpentry, art, music, and would often recount stories of times he had in his past with family, friends, and associates. Rolando was a family man with a great sense of humor. He always wanted to make his family laugh and many sought his words of advice. 

He will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have met him. 

Rolando is preceded in death by his parents, Estanislao Gutierrez†, and Isabel T. Gutierrez†, two sisters, Obdulia Contreras†, and Flora Gutierrez Simon†, brother, Juan M. Gutierrez†, and a nephew Elias Peña†. 

He is survived by his children, Isabel Gutierrez Reyes, Rolando Jr. (Norma) Gutierrez, Rita (Jimmy) Reyes, Johnny (Janie) Gutierrez, Michael (Erica) Gutierrez, Dulce Gutierrez, Jessica (Jesse) Fernandez, and Daniel Gutierrez, his fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Rolando’s family will host a funeral service with visitation on Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Visitation resumes on Monday, May 6, 2024, from 8:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. with a chapel service at 2:00 p.m. at the North Chapel of Treviño Funeral Home-Old Port Isabel Rd.

A burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd., Brownsville, Tx.
