Rolando D. Doria, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother entered into eternal rest on December 16, 2022 at Valley Baptist Medical Center. Rolando was born on January 6, 1956 in Brownsville, Texas to Geronimo O. and Emma C. Doria.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Geronimo O †. and Emma C. Doria†, brothers; Jerry† and Daniel Doria†, nephews; Joseph Jaramillo†, Michael Paul Doria† and baby niece Marcela Cavazos†.
Rolando is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Dora, his daughter; Lisa (Raul) Doria-Davila, his sons; Justin Jacob, and Rolando David, Jr., grandchildren; Priscilla Doria, Ryan Rolando Doria, Presley Alicia Davila, and Soleil Jude Davila, brothers; Carlos (Odie) and Jesse (Diana) Doria, sisters; Graciela (Richard†) Pontus, Rosalinda (Rogelio) Rocha, Yolanda (Jimmy) Jaramillo, Christina (Humberto) Cavazos, Also to cherish memories are numerous nieces, nephews as well as extended family.
Rolando was a veteran of the U.S. Army having proudly served for 10 years where he was stationed in Fort Bliss, El Paso, Germany, and Nashville, Tennessee. He worked for the Brownsville Independent School District for 20 years before retiring.
Rolando’s favorite pastime was watching the Dallas Cowboys, watching Nascar, and relaxing with his constant companion, his beautiful and gentle cat, Flor, Rolando also enjoyed the many family barbeques laughing and joking with his brothers as his brother, Danny grilled their favorite meats.
Public visitation will be held on Wednesday December 21, 2022 in the North Chapel of Treviño Funeral Home at 2p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation resumes Thursday December 22, 2022 at 8:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. with a Chapel Service at 10:00 a.m. Military honors will be conducted by American Vietnam Veterans, Chapter 1. Funeral services will conclude at the end of the service. As per Mr. Doria’s final wishes, cremation will follow.
