Rogelio L. Cisneros ,87, of Los Fresnos, Texas passed away on Wednesday July 6, 2011 at Alta Vista Nursing Home.
Rogelio met the love of his life, Elva in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. They were married in Port Isabel, Texas on January 25, 1953. They lived in Matamoros for a short while before deciding to move the United States where they settled in Laureles, Texas. Prior to working with Food Services for the Brownsville School District, from where he retired, Mr. Cisneros worked in the construction industry as well as the farming industry for many years. In 1955, Rogelio and Elva along with their first born Alma, 1953 traveled to Oregon in search of gainful employment. He found it on a farm owned by Mr. Hiro Kamo.Rogelio along with his concunio Tomas Curiel, managed the farm for over 14 years.Mr. Cisneros homegrown values and morals on everyday life are instilled in his 5 children and will be passed on to their children. His sense of humor, demonstrated by his infamous oneliners, was known to all who knew him and will be sorely missed. Mr. Cisneros love and respect for the love of his life was like no other. He and Elva were happily married for over 58 years. He will be deeply missed by his family and by those whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Carmen Latigo Cisneros.
He is survived by his wife Elva G. Cisneros of 58 years one son, Roger Rita Cisneros, four daughters, Alma Nidia Robert Garcia, Dalinda Ruben G. Martinez, Nila Gustavo Parra, Julie Roger Rodriguez fourteen grandchildren three great grandchildren four brothers, Isabel Elida Cisneros, Gilberto Virginia Cisneros, Reynaldo Maria Cisneros, Alonzo Gloria Cisneros three sisters, Fredes Chapa, Aurora Zamora, Sonia Hernandez.
Visitation will be held from 11a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday July 8, 2011 with a 7 p.m. Holy Rosary to be recited at Trevino Funeral Home North Chapel.. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday July 9, 2011 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Los Fresnos Texas with Entombment to follow at Buena Vista Park Mausoleum.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Cisneros, Robert Michael Garcia, Ruben Lee Martinez, Gustavo Alonzo Parra, Robert Lee Martinez, Jose David Chapa, Ryan Parra and Nicholas Rodriguez.
