Roberto Martinez, 72, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.

Roberto was born to Domingo Muñoz and Olivia Martinez in Brownsville, Texas. He was proud in serving in the United States Army and was in Vietnam. He was a lifetime resident from Brownsville, Texas and retired from being an independent truck driver for thirty-one years. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known him.

Roberto was preceded in death by his biological parents, by the parents that raised, loved and cared for him Clemencia Martinez and Gilberto Martinez and a son Gilberto Martinez; his brothers Rev. Gilberto Xavier Martinez, Alberto Munoz and is survived by his loving wife Maria Guadalupe "Lupita" Martinez; his children Jessica Martinez, Griselda Whitney (Mike), Diana Salazar (Gabriel), Minerva Perez (Hector), Daniel Martinez (Margie). Also, to treasure many memories are fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; his siblings; Janie Cuevas (David), Sylvia Santillana, Leonor Martinez, Lupita Galvan, Lupita Gomez, Federico Muñoz, Lazaro Torres, Estela Estrumbre and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of Trevino Funeral Home. A funeral mass is scheduled 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral Church. Rite of committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens following Military Honors performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post#2035.
