Roberto Aguilar, a beloved member of the Brownsville community, entered eternal rest on November 15, 2025, at the age of 74. Born November 7, 1951, in Brownsville, Texas, Roberto's life was characterized by his blunt honesty, transparency, and profound love for his family and friends.
Roberto is survived by his wife, Manuela "Mandy" Aguilar. His legacy continues through their son, Albert Aguilar, and their daughter, Stacy (Eliseo) Rodriguez. Roberto is also survived by his four grandchildren: Eli, Michael, Kayla, and Nathan, and his sister, Gloria Buentello. Additionally, Roberto was preceded by his loving parents.
Roberto's interests included watching the Dallas Cowboys football team, a passion he held dearly throughout his life and in his younger years, he enjoyed playing golf. His unique personality left a lasting impression on all who knew him; he was both loving and caring, qualities that drew many to him.
The services honoring his life will be held at Trevino Funeral Home, located at 1355 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM. Additional visitation will occur on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 8:15 AM to 11:30 AM. A Mass will follow at St. Mary Catholic Church, located at 1914 Barnard Rd, Brownsville, TX, starting at 12:00 PM, culminating in the burial at Buena Vista Burial Park at 1:00 PM.
Roberto’s Honorary Pallbearers will be Eli Rodriguez and Michael Rodriguez.
Roberto Aguilar will be deeply missed by his family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for those who had the privilege of knowing him.
