ROBERT L. WATSON, JR.

Robert (Rob) L. Watson, Jr., 59, of Brownsville, Texas, passed away February 17, 2023, at Sunshine Haven Hospice Care Facility after his courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on February 8, 1964, to Robert Leon and Dorothea Joan Watson in Fairbanks, Alaska.

He married Brenda Bossom on December 15, 1990, and they had one child, Nathan Watson.

He loved baking and cooking for family and friends. He was a great storyteller and had a great memory for past experiences. He loved music, Sci-Fi movies and he was an avid Star Trek fan.

Rob is survived by Brenda Watson, his son Nathan, sisters, Cindi Basaldua (Rene), Arleta Kinney (George), brothers, Rick Johnson and Kirby Johnson, nephews, Joey Gonzalez (Jennifer), Michael Alvarado (Nicole), Johnathan Kinney. Nieces, Erica Montemayor (Matthew), Jo Ann Wilder (Chris), Miranda Kinney. Great Nephews Maverick Joe Gonzalez, Maximus Ace Montemayor, Carter Kinney and Antolin Ramos. Great Nieces, Taylor Renee Gonzalez, Morgan Justine Gonzalez, Jazmin Rayleen Gonzalez, Stella Renee Wilder, AnnaBella Ramos, LaSieana Ramos, Cambrie Kinney additional nieces and nephews and his father Robert L. Watson Sr.

He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothea Joan Watson.

Special thanks to the staff of Valley Baptist Hospital-Brownsville, Sunshine Haven Inc., Dr. Todd Shenkenberg and his staff with a special appreciation to his chemo nurse, Sharon.

Memorial service will be Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 1PM at Faith Church, 1154 E. Los Ebanos Blvd., Brownsville, Texas 78520 with Pastor Brad Burkes officiating.

Private Interment Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 11AM.
