Rejino J. Palomo, 89, peacefully passed away at home, on Friday, January 5, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Palomo was born to Pedro Palomo and Guadalupe Hernandez from Tampico, Mexico. He retired from The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College in the Maintenance Department. He was a proud to have served in the Unites States Army as a Sharpshooter until 1949. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of over 50 years Angelita Palomo; his siblings Ines Cortez, Viola Frausto, Catalina Frausto, Juana Cortinas, Alfredo Cervantes, Gilberto Hernandez, Martin Palomo (MIA in war) and Esteban Hernandez (MIA in sea).
Mr. Palomo is survived by his loving children, Martin Palomo, Jesus P. Palomo, Esteban Palomo, Vicente Palomo, Juan Palomo and his wife Maria C., Sylvia Palomo Bates and her husband Rev. James R., Jose Antonio Ramirez and Nelda Mendez and her husband Cipriano. Also, to treasure many memories are his brother Benjamin Cervantez and his wife Juana; his grandchildren Vicente Palomo Jr., Richard D. Palomo, Valerie Palomo, Minerva Arguelles, Cipriano Mendez Jr., Sergio Soto Jr., Joseph M. Soto, Kevin J. Gomez; great grandchildren Anahi Palomo, Samantha Palomo, David Palomo, Jade Palomo, Evan Palomo, Joslyn Palomo, Jennifer Arguelles, Natalia Arguelles, Anthony Mendez and extended family members.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. in the North Chapel at Trevino Funeral Home; following a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at St Joseph Catholic Church. Rite of committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
