Ramiro Lopez Martinez

Ramiro Martinez, a kind and welcoming soul, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, in Brownsville, TX. at the age of eighty-three years old. He was born on February 10, 1941, in Brownsville, Texas, to beloved parents, Jose Martinez† and Carlota L. Martinez†. 

Ramiro Martinez is preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Evangelina Martinez† and his two beloved children: Ramiro (Araceli) Martinez Jr.† and Leticia Martinez†. He is also preceded by his loving parents, Jose Martinez† and Carlota L. Martinez† and seven siblings: Ofelia Ramirez†, Ignacia Saldivar†, Ruben Martinez†, Rodolfo Martinez†, Reynaldo Martinez†, Juana Valdez† and Jesus Martinez†.

Ramiro Martinez is survived by his two loving children, Oscar (Sonia) Martinez and Belinda Martinez and sister, Mary Torres. Ramiro’s memory lives on as well through three grandchildren, Mariel Maldonado, Ashley Nicole Perez and Catherine Alexandra Martinez. Ramiro's legacy of love and strength will continue through them as they navigate this time of need. 

A visitation in his honor will take place on Monday, July 22, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home-Old Port Isabel Rd. in Brownsville, TX. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Visitation resumes on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 8:15 AM to 10:00 AM at Trevino Funeral Home with a Chapel Service, Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Rite of committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park at 11:00 AM. 

Ramiro's strong will, caring nature and warm spirit touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
