Prudencio Martinez, 66, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Prudencio was a lifetime resident of Brownsville. He was a dedicated employee at the Port of Brownsville, working there as a forklift operator. Prudencio was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and he will now be cheering on the Cowboys from heaven.
Prudencio was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.
Prudencio was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Margarita and Concepcion Martinez; and his siblings: Concepcion Martinez Jr., Jorge Martinez, Julia Jacques, and Jose Peña.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him are his children: Beatriz Martinez, Ana Laura Martinez, Ruby Martinez, Mary Lou Martinez, Prudencio Martinez Jr., Selina Martinez, Sergio Martinez and Gerardo Martinez. Prudencio will also be missed by his 2 sisters: Maria del Carmen and Rosalinda Martinez and 4 brothers: Eliseo and his wife Herlinda Espinosa, Ciprian and his wife Silvia Espinosa, Juan and his wife Carmen Martinez and Martin Martinez along with numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue through 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2019 with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening in the South Chapel at Treviño Funeral Home. All services will conclude Sunday evening and in accordance with Prudencio’s wishes, cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Prudencio’s family to help cover funeral expenses.
