Our beloved and sweet brother and uncle, Praxedis Cisneros, or Praxi as we dearly called him, entered into eternal rest on Saturday. January 21, 2017.
Praxedis was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. He was a dedicated employee with the PUB for over 25 years. Praxedis was a lifetime parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church. Praxedis was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Praxi was Praxi, a sweet, lovable, and kind-hearted human being. He was all about routine. For thirty years he'd wake up in the wee hours of the morning to have breakfast with his parents before heading out for work. He'd come home after work to dinner and enjoyed rolling one or two of his Bugler cigarettes which he only fiddled with because he never really finished a single one all the while watching his favorite TV westerns.
Praxi loved family and his family couldn't help but love him back, sweet that he was. He was blessed to have his angel of a sister, Celedina, by his side who did a wonderful job of caring for him the last three years of his life.
Praxedis is preceded in death by his parents, Sara Hinojosa and Praxedis Cisneros; and a sister Maria Guadalupe "Lupita" Cisneros Perez.
Praxedis is survived by his siblings: Manuel (Carolina) Cisneros, Humberto (Delfina+) Cisneros, Celedina Cisneros, Maria (Hector) Cantu, Sara Lilia Cisneros, Minerva (Oscar Sr.) Cantu, and Gloria Sylvia (Carlos) Ayala; a brother-in-law, Amalio Perez: and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2017, with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday evening in the North Chapel at Treviño Home Funeral. Visitation will resume at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at the funeral home with the Funeral Mass scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2405 E. Tyler St., Brownsville. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Praxi's nephews: Oscar Cantu Jr., Cesar Carlos Ayala, Cristobal Cisneros Jr., Stephen Cisneros, Jacob Cisneros and Rolando Flores Jr. are honored to be serving as his pallbearers. Cristobal Cisneros Sr., Humberto Cisneros, Hector Cantu Jr., David Cantu, David Ayala, Marcus Ayala, Manuel Jaime Cisneros, Cesar Ayala Jr., David Ayala, Angel Ayala, Nicholas Tapia, Vincent Tapia, Mason Rick Acevedo, Andrew Cantu, Nathan Cantu, and Oscar Cantu III will serve as honorary pallbearers.
