aligncenter Modesto Rosario-Lisboa, born January 19, 1928 passed away May 7, 2009. In 1948 he graduated from Aguadilla High School Puerto Rico, USA and that same year moved to New York City where he remained for 40 years.

Mr. Rosario retired in 1993 and relocated to Matamoros Tamaulipas and in 1999 to the US side Brownsville of the Rio Grande Valley.

He served honorably in the military during the Korean War and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter Wm Bill Johnson 121. A devoted convert to Islam he worshiped at the Islamic Center in Brownsville, under the direction of Imam Zafar A. Anjum 956 546-8011.

He is survived by nephews Efrain, Ephifano, Edwin Sanchez , Melvin Solano, Michael, Steven, nieces Yadira,Aisha,Evelyn, Brenda,Carol Alejandra, Shirley, Claudia by sisters in law Ethel, Maria Saso, Carolina, brothers, William Solano-Lisboa and Roberto Solano-Lisboa.

He is preceded in death by his parents,his brothers Juan Solano and Monserrate Rosario and his nephew Robert Juan Solano and by his fostersister Eva Negron de Sanchez.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Odyssey Health Care of South Texas Hospice Program, and also Abundant Life Home Health Care for the Elderly and Disabled for the wonderful care they gave to Modesto.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any charity of your choice.

His remains will be taken to Lodi Cementary, Lodi, New Jersey where his parents,brother and nephew are buried.
