Mercedes Herrera

Mercedes G. Herrera, 95, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Monday, September 19, 2022, in Garland, Texas surrounded by her loving family.

Mercedes is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her family and friends and all those fortunate to have known her.

Mercedes was preceded in death by her parents, father, Carlos Garcia, mother, Braulia Salazar, husband, Blas Herrera, and brothers, Carlos Garcia, Gilberto Garcia, Father Pablo Garcia, OMI, sisters, Maria Inez Martinez, Beatriz Perez, Enriqueta Garcia, and Teresa Garcia.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her children: Gloria Herrera (Carlos) Lopez; Son, Blas (Suzanne) Herrera, she will also be missed by her five grandchildren, Carlos Lopez; Braulia Ortiz; Sylvia Lopez; Stephanie McDonald; and Gabriel Herrera. Five great-grandchildren, Michael Rodriguez, Jacob Way, Ethan McDonald, Helio Ortiz, and Elisa Ortiz and Sister Margaret Garcia, JMJ.  As well as numerous extended family members.

Visitation will begin Friday September 23, 2022, at 12:00 pm and continue through 9:00 p.m. on Friday, with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Friday evening in the South Chapel at Treviño Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Saturday September 24, 2022, at 8:15 am to 9:15 am.  Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Cathedral at 10:00 am September 24, 2022. Rite of committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
