Mary Leonarda Camarillo, also known as Nalla, entered eternal peace on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the age of eighty-eight. She was born February 16th, 1936, in Brownsville, TX to Emilio Sandoval and Maria Quijano Ruiz.
Mary departed from this world, leaving behind a legacy that will forever echo in the hearts she touched. A beautiful soul, she was known for her kindness, strength and unwavering love, qualities that endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mary was also a survivor of breast cancer. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe Camarillo, her parents Emilio Sandoval and Maria Quijano Ruiz and her brother Emilio Sandoval Jr.
In her passing, Mary leaves behind a vibrant tapestry woven with the threads of enduring relationships. She lovingly guided countless young minds as an esteemed educator at Kenmont Montessori School in Brownsville, Texas where her nurturing spirit and passionate dedication left an indelible mark on both students and colleagues alike.
She is survived by her caring family members, including her son: Joe Camarillo Jr, her brothers Mike Sandoval and Gilberto Sandoval, nieces, nephews and other family members. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit, a reminder of her unconditional love, never-ending support and incredible strength in overcoming life’s challenges.
As we honor Mary's memory, may she rest in eternal peace, enveloped in the love of those she has left behind and in the joy of a life beautifully lived. Her legacy will continue to illuminate the paths of her family and friends, inspiring them to embody the grace and warmth she so effortlessly shared with the world.
There will be a mass at Mary Mother of the Church on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 1p.m. The church is located at 1914 Barnard Rd, Brownsville, TX 78520.
