Martin Ybarra Jr

October 8, 1947 — March 16, 2010

Mr.Martin Ybarra Jr., 62, of Brownsville, Texas entered into eternal life on March 16, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.

Mr. Ybarra was the former Waste Water Superintendent at P.U.B. where he invested 27 years of service to the citizens of Brownsville. He was a graduate of San Benito High School, Class of 1966. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and fan of any sport, specially the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years Maria J. Ybarra, one son, Martin Ybarra III, two daughters Diana P. Bruce Simons and Dalia D. Ybarra parents Martin and Delia C. Ybarra three grandchildren Esteban M. Ybarra, Bruce Simons Jr., Jonathan E. Rivera six siblings, Miguel Ybarra, Polly Cortez, Margie Reyes, Noemi Torres, Maria Salazar and Manuel Ybarra numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Trevino Funeral Home South Chapel with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at 8 a.m. on Friday March 19, 2010. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010 at Our Lady Of Good Counsel. Cremation will follow.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Simons, Jorge Rivera, Manuel Ybarra, Michael Ybarra, Gabriel Ybarra, Joe Salazar and Ruben Reyes.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
