Maria Valdez

It is with heavy heart to announce the passing of Maria de Lourdes "Lulu" Valdez, 43, whom passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Lulu was born to Mario Gonzalez and Maria Gloria Gonzalez in Brownsville, Texas. Lulu was a generous, kind-hearted and fearless individual, who would "take the shirt off her back" for anybody in need, putting them before her own self. She lived one day at a time since our days are never guaranteed and tomorrow is not promised. Proud to describe her as "the life of the party". Her genuine personality will leave a great void in all those whom she loved dearly and by those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be forever loved, never forgotten and forever missed.

Her father, Mario Gonzalez; and nephew, Juan Francisco "Franky" Castillo, preceded her in death.

Survivors include by her mother Maria Gloria Gonzalez; her loving children Juan Javier Valdez, Jr. (Viviana Lopez), Mario Alberto Valdez, Yesenia Marie Valdez, Lisa Marie Valdez (Israel Bocanegra). Also, to treasure many memories are her siblings; Veronica Castillo (Juan Castillo), Vanessa Gonzalez (Raul Servin), Myra Villagrana (Manuel Villagrana); her grandchildren Leilani Bocanegra, Kytzia Valdez, Madeline de Leon and extended family members.

Visiting hours are on Friday, November 23, 2018, beginning at one o'clock in the afternoon and concluding at nine o'clock at night, with a service to begin at seven o'clock Friday evening at Trevino Funeral Home, 1355 Old Port Isabel Rd. in Brownsville, Texas.

A chapel service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at twelve noon. Interment will then follow at Guillen Community Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are; Juan Javier Valdez Jr., Mario Alberto Valdez, Leonel Rodriguez, Rodolfo Cisneros, Manuel Villagrana and Israel Bocanegra.
