Maria Ophelia Limas

Maria Ophelia Limas, affectionately known as "Ofee"was a cherished member of the community, dedicating many years of her life to education as a beloved teacher at LFCISD and BISD. She touched the lives of numerous students and colleagues with her unwavering passion for teaching.

Born in Brownsville, TX, on September 15, 1953, Ofee passed peacefully on February 15, 2024, in Harlingen, TX. Throughout her life, Ofee was known for her sweet, kind, and caring nature. Her warm personality made everyone around her feel welcomed and loved.

Ofee's impact extended far beyond the classroom. Her dedication to her students went hand in hand with her love for her family. 

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Guadalupe† and Maria Mireles†, as well as Jose Muñoz Limas†.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness through her children, Armani Grace Limas and Nathan Ray Limas. Ofee also leaves behind a multitude of family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared together.

A visitation and prayer service to honor Ofee's life will be held on February 22, 2024, at Trevino Funeral Home in Brownsville, TX. 

Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM followed by the prayer service from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

With services concluding at 9:00 PM.

Maria Ophelia Limas will always be remembered as a loving, caring, and beautiful soul whose presence brought light into the lives of those she encountered. May she rest in peace knowing that her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
