Maria Delia Guevara entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in Brownsville, TX. She was in the presence of her loving family. Maria was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who touched the lives of those around her. She cherished spending time with her family and friends. Maria especially enjoyed crocheting unique pieces and gardening beautiful creations.
Maria Delia Guevara was well known and extremely active in her children's curriculum activities. She became a Boy Scout Den Mother along side Rosie Moncada when her son had joined the Boy Scouts. Maria was also a Girl Scout Leader with Oralia Garcia, when her two daughters joined the Girl Scouts as well. She also became the PTA president at Longoria Elementary School for a whole year. On top of her busy schedule, she always helped with the Charro Days Committee with hemming and sewing parts of children's outfits. Delia was also very involved with her beloved church community at Holy Family Church.Maria's warm presence will deeply be missed by all who know her. Her spirit and memories will forever live through those she leaves behind.
She is preceded in death by loving husband, Luis Guevara Sr.†, and her beloved parents, Tomas Almaraz† and Rosa Morelos†.
Maria is survived by her three beautiful children: Luis (Norma) Guevara Jr., Linda (Santana) Vallejo, and Laura (Noe) Cisneros. Maria also leaves behind six loving grandchildren: Anthony Vallejo, Sasha Ann V. Aguilar, Luke Guevara, Leigh Guevara, Lilia Guevara, Marco Antonio Martinez and five great grandchildren: Kaylee Vallejo, Annalynn Vallejo, Penelope Aguilar, Iasiah Aguilar and Zeno Luis Guevara.
Maria's honorary pallbearers are Anthony Vallejo, Luke Guevara, Leigh Guevara, Marco Antonio Martinez, Moises Mota, Carlos Braumueller, Brent Puente and Santana VallejoVisitation in her honor will take place on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home-Old Port Isabel Rd. with a rosary from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a prayer service from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Visitation continues Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 8:15 a.m. with a chapel service at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens at 11:00 a.m.
As we gather to remember Maria Delia Guevara, let us celebrate the beautiful memories we shared with her. May we find solace in the love and support of one another during this difficult time. Maria's legacy of kindness, warmth, and genuine love will forever be etched in our hearts.
