Maria Julia Dunker, a beacon of kindness and joy, went to be with The Lord, on September 26, 2024, in Brownsville, Texas. Born on May 7, 1935, she blessed her family with her presence for 89 years, leaving an unforgettable mark on all fortunate enough to know her.
Julia was a kindhearted soul, always happy and positive, bringing light into the lives of those around her. Her bright spirit was complemented by a wonderful sense of humor, which endeared her to friends and family alike. It was not uncommon for laughter to be the soundtrack of her gatherings, where her warmth would wrap around loved ones like a comforting embrace.
Among her many interests, Julia loved playing loteria, bingo, word searches, puzzles and reading the newspaper. All her life, the rhythm of music would move her to dance, embodying the joyous spirit that danced through her heart. A lover of the beach and the company of her family.
Julia's legacy is deeply rooted in the love of her family. She is survived by her devoted daughters: Rosita Hernandez, Cristina Alawad, Maria Luisa Mendez, Irma Perez, Gloria Perez, and Eva Perez. Her legacy continues through her sons: Elias Perez Jr., Daniel Perez, and Carlos Perez. Julia also leaves behind the laughter and joy of 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, all of whom carry a piece of her spirit within their hearts.
She now joins her beloved Husband, Wilbur Arthur Dunker, parents, Francisco Medina and Celia Cisneros Medina, along with her cherished siblings: Ofelia Williams, Francisco Medina Jr., Roberto Medina, Celia Medina, and Adrian Medina, who have all preceded her in death. As we bid farewell to this radiant soul, we take comfort in the knowledge that Julia is resting in eternal peace with the Lord, forever remembered as a kind, loving, and cheerful spirit.
