Margarita Leija

Margarita Leija, 81, was called to her eternal resting place on January 9, 2019.

Margarita was born on January 20, 1937 to Juan de la Garza and Trinidad Arellano in Mexico. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Francisco Leija; their four sons, Refugio Leija, Rafael Leija, Jose A. Leija, Diego Leija; her siblings, Abelardo de la Garza, Sidronio de la Garza, Alberto de la Garza, Maria de la Garza Elizondo and is survived by her children Francisco Leija (Olga), Raymundo Leija (Armandina), Rosendo Leija (Angelina), Emilio Leija (Andrea), Eleuterio Leija (Alejandra), Ruben Leija (Maria), Julia Mejia (Oscar), Rosalinda Leija and a daughter-in-law Anita Leija. Also to cherish many memories are her fifty-five grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. in the North Chapel of Trevino Funeral Home located at 1355 Old Port Isabel Rd. Visitation will resume from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 following a funeral mass at 2 p.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church located at 2800 Rockwell Street. Rite of committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
