Manuel Vallejo Cantu, Jr., 75, born and raised in Brownsville, TX, entered into eternal life on December 27, 2011 at Valley Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Cantu was a veteran of the Korean War Era in the United States Air Force. He worked at the BM International Bridge and retired after 25 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents Manuel R. and Beatriz V. Cantu, his brothers, Nerito Cantu and Edmundo Vallejo Cantu, his sisters Olivia C. Martinez, and Maria Alicia Cantu.
He is survived by his wife Eva S. Cantu, his son Reynaldo S. Judy Cantu, his daughters Marylou Guillermo Carmona, Yvette Marie Rudy Cornejo, his 8 grandchildren and 4 greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Lukes Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be Reynaldo S. Cantu, Rudy Cornejo, Guillermo Carmona, Jr., Mark Carmona, Freddy Sheldon, and Tony Cantu. Honarary pallbearers will be Jaime Martinez, Henry Martinez and David Ramirez.
Military Honors are under the direction of Raul Leal, American Legion Post 43 Honor Guard.
