Lydia Lopez

Lydia Lopez, a kind, welcoming, caring, and loving soul, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, in Brownsville, TX. at the age of seventy-nine years old. She was born on November 24, 1944, in Brownsville, TX. to her loving parents, Lucio Gonzalez†, and Felicitas Cantu†. 

Lydia is preceded in death by her loving husband, Andres C. Lopez†; her parents Lucio Gonzalez† and Felicitas Cantu†; two sisters Adela Arriaga† and Herlinda Rodriguez†.

She is survived by her two sons, Ricardo (Estella) Lopez, and Gabriel Lopez; five grandchildren, Faith (Tanner), Jacqueline, Andres, Alejandra, and Christofer; great-granddaughter, Jedi Stella Moon; her three siblings, Roberto Gonzalez, Elvira Gonzalez, and Abelardo Gonzalez as well as numerous relatives and friends.

A visitation in her honor will take place on Wednesday,  May 8, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home-Old Port Isabel Rd. in Brownsville, TX. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. 
Visitation resumes on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 8:15 AM to 1:30 PM at Trevino Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM at St Luke Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Dr., Brownsville, TX. 
Rite of committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park at 3:00 PM.

Lydia's gentle nature and warm spirit touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
