Luisa T. Velasco, 86, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Luisa was a native and a lifetime resident of Brownsville. She is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known her. She was very active in the community. The family always got together on holidays and she would cook the very best. She loved being out in the yard with her plants and she loved knitting; she made a blanket for every single grandkid and great-grandkid. Never gave up.
She is preceded in death by her parents Juan Troncoso and Maria Z. Troncoso and her husband Leopoldo Velasco.
She is survived by her children Melba (Frank) Rodriguez, Leopoldo (Barbara) Velasco Jr., Martha C. (Benjamin) Bermudez, Elizabeth (Ray) Rojano; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and extended family members.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017 in the North Chapel of Trevino Funeral Home. Committal service will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Honored to be Luisa's pallbearers are; Orlando Velasco, Andrew Ochoa, Harvey Bermudez, Julio Herrera III, Jesse Rojano, Gabriel Velasco, Jeremiah Sansone, Adrian Rendon and Javier Ochoa.
