Luis E. Garcia Jr.

Luis E. Garcia Jr., a beloved member of the Brownsville community, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on January 4, 1952, in Brownsville, Texas, Luis dedicated over 35 years to his craft as a skilled barber, known for his gentle touch and keen attention to detail. His serious nature and quiet demeanor, coupled with a deep-seated kindness, left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Maria (Francis) Rodriguez; his children, Luis (Carla) Garcia III and Steve Garcia, stepson: Danny Munoz and stepdaughter: Jessica (Frank) Atkinson; and his cherished 13 grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Luis is also survived by siblings: Laura Garcia, Leticia Garcia, Alicia Garcia, Lydia Garcia and Ricardo Garcia. Luis's nurturing spirit and conservative values shaped the lives of those around him, fostering a close-knit family that will continue to honor his memory.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis E. Garcia and Basilia Espinoza; his sister, Petra Garcia; and his stepson, Albert Munoz. Each of them will be welcomed by Luis with open arms, finding solace in their reunion.

Visitation for Luis E. Garcia Jr. will take place at Trevino Funeral Home-Old Port Isabel Rd. in Brownsville, TX, starting on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume Friday, January 24, 2025, from 8:15 AM to 10:00 AM with a Chapel Service at 10:00 AM. Following will be a burial ceremony at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM.
