Laura Saldana

Laura Laurita Saldana, 21, our angel, left our side to join the Lord in Heaven on Monday, December 01, 2008 at Valley Regional Medical Center.

She graduated from Homer Hanna High School in 2005 and enrolled as an Art Major at the University of Texas at Brownsville. Laura attended St. Joseph Church with her family as a child and was a recent parishioner at St. Lukes Catholic Church. Laura was a talented and accomplished artist. She was a dedicated student and a caring compassionate person. She was a very active member of the Art Community at The University of Texas and participated in several Art Exhibits winning several awards for her work.

She is survived by her loving parents, Jose G. Saldana and Dora Laura Saldana, brothers, Luis Arturo Saldana and Jose Alberto Lorrie Ann Saldana, maternal grandmother, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Resurrection will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2008 at St. Lukes Catholic Church officiated by Father Oscar Siordia. Entombment will be held at Buena Vista Burial Park.
