Kenneth Sanford

Kenneth Wayne Sanford, 61, lost his battle with cancer Sunday, afternoon January 6, 2008 in his home in the arms of his family. Kenneth was born in Brownsville, TX where he attended Brownsville High School. He served in the US Army from 1968-1970 and the US Army Reserves until 1974 with honorable discharge.

He was preceded in death by his father Raymond L. Sanford Sr., and his mother; Doris Arnell Sanford.

He is survived his wife of 40 years; Brenda Allen Sanford, daughter; Kimberly Joe Jr. Guerrero, son; Kenn Kade Sanford, 3 grandchildren, Andrew, Amanda, and Jay, brother; Raymond L. Daria Sanford, Jr., sisters; Janet Roy L. Knight, and Mary M. Bob McCune. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and hundreds of friends.

There will be visitation on Thursday, January 10, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home. The procession to Mont Meta in San Benito will leave Trevinos at 2:30 p.m. and a graveside service will be held at Mont Meta Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions made to The Sol Goldman Pancreatic Cancer Research Center John Hopkins Hospital, TX Division, 401 N. Broadway Weinberg 2242 Baltimore, MD 21231 Attn Dr. Hruban.

Mr. Sanford pallbearers will be Ray Sanford Jr., Micheil McCune, Morgan McCune, Sam Merrill, Don Moore, and Greame Cashen. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Allen, Joe Guerrero, Winford Sanford, Jr., Bob McCune, and Roy Knight.

Full military honors will be conducted by The American Legion Honor Guard Post 43.
