Kay Anne Putzel, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, entered eternal rest on November 3, 2025, in Brownsville, Texas, at the age of 74. Born on January 16, 1951, in Mercedes, Texas, Kay embodied the spirit of kindness, compassion, and strength throughout her life.
Kay Anne was known for her hobbies and interests. She found great pleasure in fishing, dancing, playing cards, and engaging in gardening work. Her passions brought her joy and served as a bonding experience with loved ones.
Kay is survived by her beloved husband, Richard (Racka) Putzel, with whom she shared many wonderful years of companionship and joy. Kay's also survived by her loving daughter, Michelle (James) Thompson, her two grandsons, Austin Thompson and Britton Thompson, and her two nieces, Rexanne Shotwell and Sheila Macioge, as well as the numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mabel Shotwell, and her brothers, Bill Shotwell and Larry Shotwell. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved them.
A visitation will be held in her honor on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Trevino Funeral Home located at 1355 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX 78521, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Services to conclude after 4 p.m.
