Karen Lynn Elbert went to be with the Lord on October 20th, 2020 at the age of 77 years old.
Karen was born in 1943 to James and Wilma Reamer. She has been a Valley resident since 1979. She was married to Donald S. Elbert and together they had several furniture rental stores Valley wide. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a caring friend. She loved interior design and decorating. Additionally, she was very active in the Rio Grande Valley Apartment Association and had a passion for helping people. Karen was continually active in her Unity Church and loved her church family very much. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Donald Elbert and is survived by her loving children Tracy Kinser, Jay Elbert, Alan Elbert and his wife Laura; and her step-children, Donna Marie VanGheluwe, Patricia Cooksey, Mark Elbert, Renee Sanders and Andrea Elbert. Also, to treasure many memories are her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, October 30th, 2020 in the South Chapel of Treviño Funeral Home. Rite of committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park where there is a scheduled Graveside Service at 2 p.m.
