She was one of five females in her class and the only Hispanic female at the time. She returned to the valley dedicating much of her 44 year career working for various pharmacies in our community, but primarily as a Kmart pharmacist. She actively supported her alma mater, the Texas Pharmacy Association in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, and stressed the importance of mentoring pharmacy students.
Julia was not only involved in her community through her profession, but did charity works through her favorite organization, the Catholic Daughters of St. Marys Catholic Church. The family expresses much gratitude for their support and the friendships she held dear.
Julia approached life passionately with the compassion of a healer and soul of a traveler. She adored exploring Gods world and made friends were ever she wandered, but home was where her heart lived.
Special thanks to her physicians, Dr. J Martinez, Dr. P Ukoli, the staff at the Dialysis Center, and her housekeeper, Eulalia LaLa Calvo.
