Juana Valdez

Juana Janie Valdez, 60, passed away on June 1, 2014 at Houston Methodist Hospital. She was born on September 7, 1953 to Jose and Carlota Martinez in Brownsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jose and Carlota L. Martinez, and her son: Marco Antonio Valdez her brothers: Rodolfo, Reynaldo, and Ruben Martinez, and sisters: Ignacia Saldivar and Ofelia Ramirez.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 41 years Cesar R. Valdez, his sons Cesar Janie Valdez, Jr. and Jesus Valdez, her grandchildren: Samantha Lee, Kassandra Lee and Marc Anthony Valdez, her two brothers: Ramiro and Jesus Martinez and a sister: Maria del Rosario Torres and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and she was a devout Christian and enjoyed attending church. Janie loved her job as a medical assistant for Dr. Norma Valles, Dr. Silva, and Dr. McGlynn and later continued to volunteer in their office.

Janies memorial life celebration service will be held on Thursday, June 5 at 10 a.m. at Trevio Funeral Home, South Chapel.
