Juan C. Torres, 82, of Brownsville, Texas, went to be with our Lord on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at his residence surrounded by loving family.
Juan served in the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Veteran of Foreign Wars 2035. He served as a proud employee for 36 years at the United States Postal Service.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Santos Garcia Torres mother, Consuelo Cisneros, and sisters, Elidia Saulsbury and Francisca Cuellar.
Juan is survived by his children, Elidia Francisco Torres Cavazos, Yolanda Torres, Juanita Torres, Sylvia Torres, Beatriz Arturo Bueno, Lucy Jesse Almaguer, Magdalena David Guajardo, and Daniel Nelly Torres brothers, Lazaro Torres, Hilario Trevino, Joe, and Luis grandchildren, Michael Vanessa Montoya, Allison Marie Cavazos, Valerie Dyane Cavazos, Daniel Torres Jr., Iris Torres, Jasmine Almaguer, Jennifer Chavez, Rebecca Abete, Ann Marie Bueno, Venture Bueno, and Nathan Guajardo, and greatgrandchildren, Autum Starr Montoya, Halley Skyy, Michael Storm Montoya, Gabriel Isaiah Rojas, and Elizabeth Amber Torres.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, in the North Chapel at Trevio Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary at 7 p.m..
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
