Josefina R. Garcia

Josefina R. Garcia entered her eternal rest on Friday, December 1, 2023, in Brownsville, Tx., at the age of eighty-eight years old.  

Josefina was born on August 21, 1935, in Brownsville, Tx. to her

loving parents, Rafael Rivera†, and Felipa Lerma†.

Josefina is preceded in death by her parents; Rafael Rivera†, and Felipa Lerma†, her loving husband, Carlos Garcia, Sr.†, a son†, brother, Florencio Rivera†, her sisters, Juanita Briones†, and Felipa Aguirre†.

Josefina was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Great great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Josefina will be remembered for the loving memories she left behind with family and friends and will be profoundly missed.

Left to cherish her memory is her two children, her daughter, San Juanita Garcia, her son, Carlos (Noemi) Garcia, Jr., grandchildren, Antonio Buitron, Jr., Stacey Garza, Samantha Rodriguez, Eric Buitron, Brandon Buitron, Mark Buitron, Amanda Garcia Zurita, and Carlos Garcia, III, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and four Great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.  

Public visitation in her honor will take place at Treviño Funeral Home-Old Port Isabel Rd. of Brownsville, Texas on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the North Chapel of Treviño Funeral Home.

Services will conclude at 9:00 p.m.
