Josefina Garcia

Josefina C. Garcia entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the age of seventy-six. She will be greatly missed.

Josefina was born to Jose M. Cuevas and Rafaela Delgado in Mexico and moved to Brownsville, Texas when she married. She was a lifetime Brownsville resident. She loved her family and enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by parents; her late husband Gumercindo Garcia and is survived by her loving children Josefina Garcia, Elizabeth G. Hernandez, Cristina Ledezma, Lilliana Contreras; sons-in-law Mike Hernandez and Travis Contreras. Also, to treasure many memories are her sister Maria Delia Garcia; her beloved grandchildren Efrain Ledezma Jr., Daniel Ledezma , Gumercindo Castillo, Layla Contreras, Sebastian Contreras, Julianna Contreras and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of Trevino Funeral Home. A chapel service is scheduled at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 following rite of committal service at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Honored to serve as Josefina's pallbearers are; Mike Hernandez, Efrain Ledezma Jr., Jose Manuel Chavez, Daniel Ledezma, Travis Contreras and David Muñoz.
