Jose Guadalupe Martinez, 50, of Brownsville, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.
Lupe, as he was affectionately known by all, was a lifetime resident of Brownsville. Lupe, worked in tire sales and repairs for over 30 years, starting out as a young man working in his grandfather's shop in Matamoros. At the time of his passing, he was the owner/operator of Military Tire and Wheel. Lupe was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Left behind to eternally treasuere their memories of Lupe is his loving wife of 26 years, Belinda Hinojosa Martinez; his children: Emilio "Milo" and his wife Tania Hinojosa, Yadira Martinez, Nubia Martinez, and Jose Guadalupe Martinez Jr.; the grandson that was his pride and joy, Santiago "Santi" Hinojosa; his parents, Rosa Maria and Eduardo Martinez; 4 sisters: Lidia Odilia (Juan Ramon Rodriguez+) Martinez Garcia, Claudia (Shantil) Nadarasa, Anabell (Ramon) Rodriguez and Susana Carolina (Orlando) Treviño; 3 brothers: Felix Eduardo Martinez Garcia, Jose Angel Martinez Garcia, and Juan Manuel Martinez Garcia. Lupe will also be missed by his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and many friends.
Visitation will start at 12 Noon and continue through 9:00 pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, in the North Chapel at Treviño Funeral Home Old Port Isabel Road with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 pm Tuesday evening. Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 with a Chapel Service scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Treviño Funeral Home. All services will conclude after the service and in accordance with Lupe's wishes, cremation will follow.
