Jose Antonio Gonzalez

Jose Antonio Gonzalez, born on January 6, 1957, in Brownsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, in his hometown. Known for his social nature, friendly demeanor, and kind spirit, Jose leaves behind a legacy of warmth and love that will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jose is survived by his loving spouse, Blanca Sandoval. He was a proud father to his three children, Melissa Gonzalez, Joseph Gonzalez, and Jose Gonzalez Jr., and embraced his role as a stepfather to Erika Garcia and Eddy Garcia Jr, as well as ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought him boundless joy. Jose is survived by his brother, Benacion Gonzalez Jr., and his sisters, Diana Gonzalez and Flor Estela Hawkins. The bonds they shared were filled with love, support, and countless cherished memories.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Benacion and Edujives Gonzalez, as well as his brother, Arnoldo Gonzalez, and sister, Alicia Olvera.

Jose enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. He had an interest for the Dallas Cowboys and fishing. Social gatherings were also a highlight, as he enjoyed cook-outs and spending quality time with family and friends, often accompanied by a refreshing Bud Light. These simple pleasures brought him happiness.
