Jose Esparza

Jose Maria Esparza, 77, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 4, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alberto and Antonia Betancourt; two brothers Juan V. Betancourt and Fidel V. Esparza.

Jose is survived by his loving siblings Juanita B. Alvarez (Jose) of Olmito, TX, Margarita Brooker-Key (Roberto), Linda Gonzalez (Francisco), Enedina Sosa (Edmundo+) all of Brownsville; David Esparza (Ruth+) of Costa Mesa, CA, Luis Esparza (Maria), Francisco Esparza (Ramona+) all of Brownsville. Also, to treasure many memories are numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2018, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of Trevino Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church 2 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018. Rite of committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Honored to serve as Jose's pallbearers are Jose Alvarez, Jose Gonzalez, David Gonzalez, Juan Tello, Irineo Guerrero, Ruben Morales, Alex Gonzalez and Bruce Brooker-Key.
