Jose Luis Briones, 67, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

Jose Luis was born to Pedro Briones and Santos Moreno in Mexico. He served a thirteen year tenure at UT Brownsville and eventually retired from Amfels where he served as an Engineer. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jose Luis is survived by his loving wife Susana Briones; their sons Jose Luis Briones (Elsa Barrientos) ,Oziel Briones and Hector Briones (Sandra). Also, to treasure many memories are his siblings; Aurora Briones, Sara Castillo, Maria Guadalupe Briones, Maria de la Cruz Briones, Maria de los Santos Briones; eight grandchildren Oziel Briones Jr., Diego A. Briones, Sebastian Briones, Karina Briones, Leonardo Briones, Genesis Briones, Galilea Briones, Liam Briones and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. and a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the South Chapel at Trevino Funeral Home. Services will conclude Friday evening. As per Mr. Jose Luis's wishes, cremation will follow.
