Jesse Avalos, 57, died suddenly, January 11, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center. Jesse Avalos, an uncomplicated man of simple pleasures will be greatly missed by his friends and family. For 15 years he has graced the halls of Sharp Elementary with his wit, laughter, joy, and mischievous humor. The extended Sharp family of students and faculty will mourn his loss. He served in the U.S. National Guard for 7 years.
He was preceded in death by his father; Bernabe G. Avalos.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Peggy Avalos, of Brownsville, daughters; Amanda Fiance, Joshua Garza Avalos of Brownsville, Kathy Vicente Ortiz of Edinburg, TX, mother; Celia Avalos of Alamo, TX, mother-in-law; Geneva Gill of Brownsville, brothers; Ralph Avalos of San Antonio, TX, and Hector Yolanda Avalos of Alamo, TX, brother-in-law; Marvin Miller of North Caroline, sister-in-law; Carol Miller of Chicago, Ill, grandchildren; Vince J., Adrian, and Courtney Ortiz of Edinburg, nephew and nieces; Justin Avalos of Victoria, TX, Rebekah Avalos of Los Angeles, Michelle Avalos of New Braunfels, Carol Avalos of Arkansas, Ami Avalos of Alamo and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Trevino Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 43 Veterans honor Guard.
