James Jim Harry Sedam, 69, died Friday of ALS at his home in Winter Haven Resort where he resided for seven years.
He was born January 3, 1942 in Tacoma, Washington. He and Mary Ann Shively were married on May 11, 1963 in Walnut, Kansas.
He retired from the Air Force in January 1977 as a Technical Sergeant. He lived in San Antonio, TX until 2002 where he purchased and rented homes as an occupation.
He received a Bachelor of Arts with a specialty in Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University of San Antonio in 1980. He received a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from Our Lady of the Lake University of San Antonio in 1982.
Survivors include: his wife Mary Ann of Brownsville, TX, his daughter and soninlaw Darla and William R. Randy Winstead and grandchildren, Bryan and Katie Winstead of Washington DC, his sister and her husband Pat and Ed Diamond of Carlsbad, CA, his half sister and her husband Laurie and Ron Cortez of Goleta, CA, also twentyfive nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Bright his mother, Virginia Sedam, and his stepfather, Robert Sedam.
Services will be held in Walnut, KS, details are pending.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the ALS Association or Disabled Veterans Association.
