Isidro Garcia, 82, entered into eternal life on September 6, 2012 at Valley Baptist Medical CenterBrownsville.
Isidro Garcia was born May 14, 1930. He attended El Jardin K12 School. In 1950, he joined the U.S. Army and served in Germany during the Korean conflict. During his tour of duty in Germany, he earned the Purple Heart award. After 3 years of active duty, he served an additional 6 years in the Army Reserves. Isidro enjoyed his family, his work and the outdoors. He served the Port of Brownsville as a longshoreman and supervisor for 46 years, in particular Dix Shipping Company. Isidro honored God and his country.
He is survived by his wife Elida Garcia, his daughter Mary Pilar Ramon Salinas: his sons Isidro Garcia Barrios, Greg Diana Garcia, Jose A. Nora Garcia,his 10 grandchildren Amanda Garcia, Steven Garcia, Mark Garcia, Rebecca Garcia, Keith Salinas, Kelly Salinas, Daniel Garcia, Gina Garcia, Eric Garcia, Aaron Salina, and one greatgrandchild, Ezekiel Pena, his brothers Jose Guadalupe Garcia, Gilberto Garcia, Jose Garcia, his sisters Manuela Garcia and Maria Elena Gallardo.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2012 at Trevino Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
